PowerPoint to Markdown: questions and answers
How are slides organized in the Markdown?
Slides are converted in order. Text boxes become paragraphs, bullet points become Markdown lists and tables become pipe tables. Titles that use the slide’s title placeholder become headings.
Are speaker notes included?
Yes. Speaker notes are added as a blockquote (lines starting with >) after the content of their slide.
Are pictures and charts kept?
By default pictures are replaced by their alternative text. Turn on “Include images” to keep embedded pictures in the .md file or in the .zip download. Charts and SmartArt are not rendered as images.
Does it work with old .ppt files?
Yes. .pptx, .pptm, .ppsx and legacy .ppt/.pps files are supported, up to 50 MB, and they are converted in your browser without being uploaded.
